Divine Mercy Mass & Novena at Ascension Catholic Church 2018
Divine Mercy Mass & Novena at Ascension Catholic Church
Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, 6PM
(9 consecutive Tuesdays)
Come join us to pray and sing Our Lord's Divine Mercy during Lenten season.
The theme of this year’s Divine Mercy Novena comes from Pope Francis’ reflections in Chapter 4 of his Apostolic Exhortation, Amoris Laetitia or the “Joy of Love.” His reflections are based on the familiar passage of St. Paul’s letter on the features of true love. It’s the passage that many engaged couples choose for their wedding mass because they believe it contains the roadmap for their marriage:
“Love is patient, love is kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Cor 13:4-7).
For the next 9 weeks, we will unpack this beautiful passage with the help of Pope Francis as well as Christopher West’s insights from his recent book, “Love Is Patient, but I’m Not.”
