Jesus used rich images from daily life of his time--shepherd and sheep, gatekeeper and gate, pasture and life--to illustrate his desire to have a relationship with us. He desires for us to hear his voice so that however far we are from him and no matter how lost we are from wandering in our own selfish ways, we may open the gate of our hearts for him and to draw us to the path to the Father. -Fr.
