Consecration to St. Joseph - Day 11 of Preparation
Spouse of the Mother of God, Pray for Us.
Every wife desires a husband who is a gentleman, a protector, and a good father. She desires a man who is strong and protective while gentle, loving, and trustworthy. As a model husband, St. Joseph loved Blessed Mother with all his heart.
The Church--the Bride of Christ--also desires shepherds like St. Joseph; Catholics desire spiritual fathers--priests and bishops--who are prayerful, trustworthy, gentle, compassionate, virtuous, and protective. In St. Joseph we find a model husband, father, and priest. If men follow the example of St. Joseph, families will be loving and secure, husbands will be holy, and priests will be humble.
Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI wrote, "Saint Joseph was the spouse of Mary. In the same way, each father sees himself entrusted with the mystery of womanhood through his own wife. Dear fathers, like St. Joseph, respect and love your spouse; and by your love and your wise presence, lead your children to God."

O God, who, in your loving providence, chose Blessed Joseph to be the spouse of your most Holy Mother, grant us the favor of having him for our intercessor in heaven whom on earth we venerate as our protector. You, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never has it been known that anyone who asked for your help and sought your intercession was left unaided.
