Consecration to St. Joseph - Day 7 of Preparation
Holy Mary, Pray for Us.
Fr. Calloway writes that the best way to imitate Jesus is to imitate his total entrustment to Mary and Joseph. This entrustment does not take away from our love for Jesus. Jesus is the first one to entrust himself to them; his desire is for us to love them and imitate them. What son would be offended if someone praised the virtues of his mother and father?
When we entrust ourselves to St. Joseph, he will bless those who love and honor his spouse, Mary, and he will increase our love for the Virgin Mary. When St. Joseph took Mary as his wife, he consecrated himself to her and made a promise to treasure her, especially her virginity. He desires his spouse to be loved and honored by others. Virgin Mary is St. Joseph's heart and home. Everything he did, he did for Jesus and Mary. Blessed Bartolo Longo said it best, "O my dear father St. Joseph, I want to love you with the love that Mary has for you."
