Consecration to St. Joseph - Day 22 of Preparation
Joseph Mirror of Patience, Pray for Us.
Fr. Calloway writes that with our modern advances in technology, almost everything in life is at our fingertips, hence, it is very difficult for us to acquire the virtue of patience. Remaining peaceful and calm can be very challenging when you find yourself in a situation that is completely out of your control. We remind ourselves that, "Blessed are all those who wait on the Lord." (Is 30:18)
St. Joseph is a model of patience for us. His life was not easy, for his mission required a lot of waiting. For example, he had to wait three long months when his betrothed returned from visit to her cousin Elizabeth. And after seeing her pregnant, he had to wait for the Lord to reveal to him what he desired to do in response to the miraculous pregnancy. Yet, in very situation, St. Joseph remained peaceful, kind, calm, and surrendered to God's Will.
We also experience unpleasant people and events in our lives. We need to imitate St. Joseph's virtue of patience in those moments, being kind, peaceful, and merciful, whether at a workplace or at home. When we practice patience and mercy, the fruit is always goodness.

O God, who, in your loving providence, chose Blessed Joseph to be the spouse of your most Holy Mother, grant us the favor of having him for our intercessor in heaven whom on earth we venerate as our protector. You, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never has it been known that anyone who asked for your help and sought your intercession was left unaided. Full of confidence in your power, I hasten to you, and beg your protection. Listen, O foster-father of the Redeemer, to my humble prayer, and in your goodness hear and answer me. Amen.
